Oasis Senior Center – Newport Beach, CA

This campus of five seismically separated building boasts an ocean view and utilizes exposed wood trusses and beams, light framed wood construction, structural steel, and concrete block. Building functions include exercise and dance studios, educational classrooms, arts and crafts with a potter’s kiln, a library, a Senior Center, a high-volume multi-purpose room, city administration functions, with extensive connecting canopies and trellises. The construction cost of the buildings came in $4,000,000 under the preliminary estimate.
